Verde is a tree-tagging application developed for Zura Technologies, designed to empower planting organizations by providing transparent and verifiable records of tagged trees via blockchain. By enabling companies to easily offset their carbon emissions through documented green assets, Verde bridges the gap between environmental sustainability and technology. The app is crafted with simplicity in mind, ensuring that even farmers can tag their trees effortlessly, while leveraging technologies like machine learning to enhance its capabilities.

Purpose

Verde was developed for Zura Technologies to address the growing need for transparency in environmental sustainability efforts. Planting organizations often struggle to provide verifiable records of their activities, which can hinder partnerships with companies aiming to offset carbon emissions. Verde solves this problem by offering a simple yet powerful app that records tree-tagging data with precision, with plans to use blockchain for immutable transparency. The app’s user-friendly design ensures that farmers and planters can participate in the process, democratizing access to green technology and fostering a more sustainable future.

Status

MVP Developed, Next Version in Progress: The MVP of Verde is complete, supporting core tree-tagging functionality with location, timestamp, and planter details. I am currently working on the next version, which will introduce blockchain integration for secure record-keeping and an ML model to enhance the photo capture process.
